New Jersey is now ordering all of its indoor shopping malls to close until further notice, starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, to help battle the spread of the coronavirus, Gov. Phil Murphy announced.

Murphy said indoor “amusement centers” also must close, after announcing the state’s total number of coronavirus cases surged to 267 as of Tuesday afternoon.

All other non-essential retail, recreation, and amusement businesses can remain open, as long as they are closed between 8 p.m and 5 a.m. and adhere to the state’s social distancing guidelines requiring fewer than 50 people at any gathering, the governor said.
