Check out VENUS tonight - looks brighter then ever and with a Bright CORONA visible!
Venus was a sight to not miss in tonights sky, rather ominous, one way or another:

EDIT - they call this effect, get this, the "Corona around Venus"!

Yep, would you get a load of this!

Venus has a corona, as we read:

"Coronae around the moon and sun are fairly commonplace. More rarely, Venus can be a bright enough luminary to make them but usually only the smudge of the central aureole is seen." Source:

This is what we are seeing in the video!

Did you know Venus has a "corona"?!

Well, actually several coronae as they are called in the plural form and the only planet in our solar system know to have them:

"The largest corona on Venus is the Artemis Corona, which is 2100 km in diameter."

This is what happens when you don't read. A "corona" of 2100 km would not be visible from Earth. They're talking about surface geological features on Venus like mountains and valleys, not a "halo like corona" visible around Venus.

The geodynamic surface of Venus is dominated by patterns of basaltic volcanism, and by compressional and extensional tectonic deformation, such as the highly deformed tesserae terrain and the concentrically-fractured coronae.[1] On Venus, coronae are large (typically several hundred kilometres across), crown-like, volcanic features.

Coronae were first identified in 1983, when the radar imaging equipment aboard the Venera 15 and Venera 16 spacecraft produced higher-resolution images of some features previously thought to be impact craters.

It is believed that coronae are formed when plumes of rising hot material in the mantle push the crust upwards into a dome shape, which then collapses in the centre as the molten magma cools and leaks out at the sides, leaving a crown-like structure: the corona.

The largest corona on Venus is the Artemis Corona, which is 2100 km in diameter.

I'm not getting them confused, you are. The "corona" your article refers to refers to geological features ON VENUS. Not to there being anything AROUND VENUS. Your citation doesn't support your OP. Again, read the entirety of the article you cited to support your OP, it DOES NOT support your conclusion.

There are two articles above I referenced, in two replies, for they are two totally different things. Here is the one about a corona AROUND Venus. Corona in this case is not the geological term, but the ATMOSPHERIC one - Here is the corona around Venus source:

[link to www.atoptics.co.uk (secure)]

note - on coronas around the sun and other stars (generally not planets, which is the shocking part)

"A corona is an aura of plasma that surrounds the Sun and other stars. The Sun's corona extends millions of kilometres into outer space and is most easily seen during a total solar eclipse, but it is also observable with a coronagraph." Source: [link to quizzclub.com (secure)]

And, for the record, halos and sundogs can appear around Venus. Even so-called sun pillars! There is so much unknow, which is why it is so fun to look up, grab whatever you can and record it:

OK, on the left side in the image below, you see the video from last night, a still shot. Now I know this is not "focused" but a distorted, although ultra zoomed in view of Venus. But check that out!
Right side is a crater on Venus named Mead.

On the left side, you also see a ring around Venus, such as potentially that corona:
