I don't think you were forgotten for any reason, and the only person who can reassure you at this stage is yourself. You Could try ask your manager for reassurance ... but that depends on how humane your manager is, and how well you interact.

That's bullshit. I'd march right in to his office and say "why didn't I get a tote bag?"

I'd record the entire conversation. If he says something smart ot tries to demean you then say "so you did it on purpose? That's harrassment."

But isn't it a little unfair to assume the worst? Every manager I've worked with in my career has been human and just as apt to make mistakes as the rest of the work force. A tote bag in the grand scheme of things is relatively small ... to some people it wouldn't matter and to others it does. The reason is not because its an overt action to belittle someone, its usually a subtle sense of worthlessness magnified by the feeling of being forgotten.

Anybody who feels good about themselves by making someone feel bad, is a very broken person. I know they exist, but they deserve to be approached directly, politely and reasonably ... if they get their jollies out of making people feel bad then this approach should take the focus off you for a bit ...
