You are right on all points. Still doesn't change the basic unfairness of the situation. Hard work and initiative is not enough to get into the 0.01% club that is protecting itself in all this.

If you lose your job through no fault of your own, you can file for unemployment which means a continual paycheck at minimum wage and baised on the number of hours you worked and how long you were on the job. This will put a big strain on the states.

Do those who could not go to work because of the virus deserve compensation? I don't want to see people lose their homes or go hungry. I knew an ER nurse who was exposed to whooping cough who was forced to self quarrdntine. She had to use her personal leave time. I think the hospital should have let her use her sick leave. This hospital did not pay you for accured sick time if you quit and you had to use a week of your leave time before they would let you draw from your illness bank. She should have at least been paid workman's comp though that pays at most $500/wk. She was pissed to say the least. The hospital should have paud her.

Do large corporations and banks deserve a bailout? Boeing is important for their defense role in this country and they employ a lot of people. They pay well! Yes, they should be held accountable as to how the money is spent. It should not go into the CEO's pocket. Who is going to hold them accountable?

This stituation is not sustainable. The purpose of the quarantine is to slow down the virus and buy time to let the healthcare industry get prepared for the onslaught. I don't think we should stay quarantined for much longer. For life to return to normal we are going to have to accept the fact that many of us will get sick and many will die. Are you ready for that?

Where is this money supposed to come from?

Some families with 6+ children are already being given food stamps, housing, healthcare, and welfare. You want to give them 800,000 while me, a single, older, recently crippled person who worked all her life $100,000? As I am having difficulty finding a job and was forced to start drawing my Social Security, I won't even get the $1200.

It is the ideology of the Replublican party that the few should represent the masses. Bernie Sanders has always stood up against corporate America and has tried to expose the many tax benefits they have been given. He exposed the corruption in the 2008 bailout. Not saying I support his socialist reforms, but, he has been demonized by this forum while Trump has been held up to be a god.

Idealistically, I do support socialism, it is just that it has been proven not to work. Those without have even less while the few rulers are still wealthy and authoritarian.
