The Rice Challenge consists of actually finding rice that is rice. From what I understand much of the rice that comes in from China at least is fake rice. Meaning fake rice is just bits and pieces of white plastic.

The best way to weed out the white plastic pieces from your rice is to put a single layer on a skillet. Then heat it up somewhat gradually until the fake rice begins to discolor. Real rice has a much higher heat tolerance before it inevitably discolors and burns. I have seen one or two YouTube videos briefly show and discuss before those videos mysteriously vanished.
