We are like flies crawling across the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel: We cannot see what angels and gods lie underneath the threshold of our perceptions. We do not live in reality; we live in our paradigms, our habituated perceptions, our illusions; the illusions we share through culture we call reality, but the true historical reality of our condition is invisible to us.” |

Just watch the items for a day or so and be prepared to buy quickly. Use Google and look around like an addict looking for heroin. I have never used this company (so research) but found this in a few minutes. [link to www.classicfirearms.com (secure)] |

Loaded to 2.28" for magazine functioning. The .243 bushing negates the need to crimp. The Sierra software shows at 500yds, 77gr smk hits with more power than a factory .357 158gr flat point from 8" bbl at 25yds. Not really that much reason to prefer the .308win; unless for big game or distances greater than 600yds. Amazingly accurate little guns, these AR-15s; at least if you got one built to deliver it. If you like to play Blaster, your barrel likely not to be worth shit. M-4geries, with under 16" oal barrels not nearly as versatile as a 18-20" barrel. 1:7 or 1:8 twist is ideal. The Army's competition shooting unit used the 77gr smk at every distance for Service Rifle comps ten or so years back. They won everything. While an 80 or 90gr vld match bullet will buck the air better, at 600yds the 77 BTHP will deliver. This was back in the day of irons only... So cheap to load the 77BTHP, especially finding Nosler's on sale. I haven't bought loaded ammo in a great many years. Got to admit, the weight advantages are all in the AR-15s favor. 77gr rounds are right up there with 6mm loads. Hitting with more power than a factory .357 at 500yds... What more could you want? |

The theory was Obama did it to dry up supplies, same as shutting down lead smelters. Hollow point ammo is illegal in warfare, but the police can use it on us. That should tell you something if you're smart, the government considers us the enemy. ALL of us |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76785444 Locally (Hampton Roads, Virginia) ammo is getting scarce as hell. The gun store I was at yesterday only really had 12 gauge bird shot (limit of 50 rounds per customer) and .22LR. Even .22 mag rounds were scarce. I bought a .22 revolver and a ton of the .22LR rounds just because of that. My advice ... Let the riff Raff wast there ammo shooting off in the air like it's the 4th of July and hopefully you'll have a surplus when the rest are out II Corinthians 3:17 - Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom Your liberties aren't dying; they're being killed by people with names and addresses ... I've been loading for years and I'm all with you. But none of this means anything if the JBTs burst into your room at 4am. Or the city raiding parties watched you for two days then pounced when you turned your back and then spent two days torturing you and your family before killing you and taking your stuff. Or you break your leg when there's no hospital with room or people to deal with it and you die of infection. So many other aspects to making it through the suck that's here. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78081443 United States 03/21/2020 07:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | He can only use 556 if the barrel is bored for 556. A 556 bore can shoot both 556 & 223, but a 223 bore barrel can only shoot 223. The diameter of 556 rounds are slightly too wide & will very quickly cause catastrophic failure in 223 barrels from excessive back-pressure (i.e. the barrel explodes). OP: I'd say let this ammo rush die down & then search for a large gunshow nearby. There's always vendors selling 223/556 1000-ct crates of ammo (reloads) for around $300. Might want to buy yourself a reload rig, spent brass casings, powder & primer too. That's always for sale at gunshows. |
