$1 trillion bailout package.

How it works: Half the sum will be spent directly, in the form of checks sent to American households. Details are still being worked out, but there will be an element of means testing, with poorer Americans getting more money.

That makes sense, because richer households are already getting an involuntary cash injection of their own, in the form of foregone consumption expenditures.

The other half of the bailout goes to corporations,

The corporate bailout isn't a cash grant, though. Instead, it takes the form of secured loans. Secured loans are loans backed with collateral in form property to be used to pay off loan if can't be paid with currency

Small businesses will also be eligible for government-guaranteed loans — but it's not obvious how they're supposed to be able to repay them. A guaranteed loan is a loan that a third party guarantees – or assumes the debt obligation for – in the event that the borrower defaults.

While main street slowly goes under water thanks to the dividing lock downs, wall street with its banker army can go around with their 0% rates and buy up failing and in debt to the government businesses and assets pennies on the dollar....5aburnit:vlwc:

None of the underlying problems are being fixed. They are just throwing money at the problem.

That will allow the businesses to operate a bit longer until they back to where they started needing another bailout

This is idiotic just let it crash. Let the real price of goods and services be discovered. Let the free market TRULLY BE FREE quit trying to control it all. Fed is nothing but control freaks

banker Charles E. Mitchell announced that his company, the National City Bank, would provide $25 million in credit to stop the market's slide. Mitchell's move brought a temporary halt to the financial crisis, and call money declined from 20 to 8 percent However, the American economy showed ominous signs of trouble: steel production declined, construction was sluggish, automobile sales went down, and consumers were building up high debts because of easy credit.

And where does all this ‘free money’ come from exactly? Isn’t it just the same thing a printing a bunch of extra money out of nothing? Won’t that cause hyperinflation?
We’re all in the same game; just different levels
Dealing with the same hell; just different devils
