Don't forget that in the US everyday about 8,750 people die.
And they can't draw any accurate statistics when they only test people who are symptomatic. H1N1 was supposed to have a death rate of over 2 until they later started testing for antibodies in a control and found out it was not nearly as bad.
Keep in mind the swine flu killed between 200,000 and 600,000 in the US and nothing was shut down.
