To those who listened to this "wack-job", our day is almost here. To those who didn't, sucks to be you. Now take that 1959 and 2X it for the other 21 trillion they're not telliing us about, and now silver is really worth $4000. Not including "premium" on top of that... Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 76007124 United States 03/29/2020 01:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the important thing to remember about that silver to dollar ratio is that it is based on the year over year increase in M2 money supply of the US only, divided by the WORLD yearly production of silver. A more accurate accounting would take US money supply growth divided by US silver production which is 1/28th of the global total so $2,000 X 28 =$56,000 per ounce. Anonymous Coward User ID: 74808618 United States 03/29/2020 02:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Precious metals, like most hard assets, will protect your wealth during times like these, but not necessarily increase it. That being said, there are periods where market dislocations will be corrected - often over corrected - and that results in a genuine wealth increase. This will come after (deflation ALWAYS comes before hyperinflation). Those who have the ability to hold PM through this period and emerge alive on the other side will have their wealth increased, but not by as much as they would like to think. I'd say silver will eventually land at a value somewhere around $40-$50 of value measured in today's dollars, but it will take longer than you think and there will be much pain along the way. There will be better opportunities in real estate and forex along the way for those with capital and the knowledge to exploit it. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 63650789 Canada 03/29/2020 03:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Silver may very well go to $100 or even much higher. But it is meaningless until you tell me what a loaf or bread or a gallon of gas will cost at that time.
