My father-in-law was a skilled corporate pilot who had former President Harry S. Truman as a passenger once. Even though my 59 year-old wife has flown countless times since she was a kid, she still becomes nearly catatonic with fear on takeoff. Turbulence gives her panic attacks, and she's not crazy about landing either. |
