Parents: Are you exhausted/stressed now thst the kids are not going back to school? | |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78702200 Try to prep in case YOU get sick and still need to care for the children. Make some meals ahead and freeze it, have a big jug of water near your bed or resting area, tissues, wash bowl and needed meds. You could wake up unable to move, sick with fever and so on. Teach them when to call 911. Teach the kids how to heat and get their own meals if needed, do a load of wash, load the dishwasher and care for you and each other, feed the pet, if you get sick. |

I am thrilled to have her home again. I am not exhausted. This mother hen likes having her chicks close to the nest. I used to work full time, office jobs. Started staying at home when my daughter was 4. Not an easy transition but such a blessing. This is so much better. This is the way it works best, the way it's meant to be. Parents, I hope you realize and appreciate this extra time you're getting with your kids. You'll never get those months or years back. Your kids need you and will never forget this time. They grow up so fast. Be blessed. Be grateful. |

Rabbit In The Hat User ID: 68111041 United States 03/29/2020 02:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If these parents are saying they are such a good parents their kids never whine, never fight, never have temper tantrums, never cry, demand attention and get fussy they are lying. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78702200 I have 3 grown children in their 20’s and 3 young children 8, 6 & 3. Perhaps my perspective is different after having raised some already, but I’m happy to have my children home because I know they are being cared for, well fed, I’m seeing firsthand what they are learning & above all, they are safe. I homeschooled them for a few years before deciding to place them into a school (not a public school!). Now that they are home with me, I again realize the importance of all of the things I previously listed. Of course they argue amongst themselves sometimes, they demand attention, make messes & whine, but that’s what children do. Dealing with it is what parents do. It’s a small price to pay for their overall well-being. I’m also a stay at home mom & my time can be spent fully devoted to my family & I know this isn’t the case for all family’s, but I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to commit myself to my family on a full time basis. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78369195 United States 03/29/2020 02:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's exhausting!! :-D.. I'll admit that... Quoting: ~Blue Spirit~ But, it's so much better and worth it in the long run... At least I am "allowed" to hold full responsibility for my child's education now... he was in primary school before this lockdown studying for his exams, currently an A* student and at level 1 sets... I'm helping him maintain that up by teaching him around 5 hours a day... he's much more relaxed, no stress from exams so he can concentrate more... Even though, he is kind of treating this like a holiday/vacation, lol... but, he's a bright child and is striving each day :-)... I have to work from home too 5 hours a day (roughly) so yes, it is very exhausting... it's worth it though... Now they are saying schools may not open back up in the fall... WOW! That is great news! Wish they had done this when i was in school.....no more pounding BS in my head that aint true or doesnt serve you any good thru out your life. Looking back and i had to do it all over again...i would have quit that prison soon as i could have and NEVER looked back! |

Bonfire78 User ID: 78087053 United States 03/29/2020 02:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Life really isn't that bad. It's been a blast teaching them at home! The best thing right now is having the extra hands around the yard! Being stuck at home is a bummer but we have 3 acres to explore and have fun in sooo...they stay pretty busy. Bugs, worms and snakes...baby bunnies and bird feathers to find and mess with. And the creek is always a blast too. The tween will be learning how to shoot a bow, how to handle a wrist rocket and B.B. gun this summer. Good times! Tomorrow we start computer labs with the school. I expect it won't be too bad. How can I be substantial if I do not cast a shadow? I must have a dark side also If I am to be whole. C.G. Jung |

My husband and I are laid off and she’s here with us. Some people don’t have that luxury. Probably many people wishing they were home instead. We’ve been playing games, reading, dancing. Once I found out her propaganda homework wasn’t going to be held against her or counted I stopped stressing about it. We do go over math lessons because that’s where she had to work harder. hear me out |

Exhausting is an understatement and my brain is turning to oatmeal. I forget what day it is and I haven't shaved in two weeks. I've resorted to paper plates so in don't have to do dishes twice a day. Quoting: Bloody Peasant! Please let's get back to normal life Now imagine a teacher with 30 6 year olds! It’s an exhausting job and those of us that are good at it and enjoy it certainly don’t educate for the bills. It’s not just literacy, math, science, PE, writing, reading, music, art.... it’s social skills and making sure they turn out to be kind and compassionate humans. Hopefully it’s taught some parents to respect teachers more. We’re not just babysitters. And a lot of us are out of a job right now. Peace. I do appreciate teachers more than you know. Our family business is a preschool/kindergarten. It's why my wife is still working while everything is shut down. My wife runs it and we're employing a staff of 30, now down to 9. My kids are home with me so critical infrastructure, medical workers and first responders have spots in the school. Thank YOU for being a teacher!!! We need you to educate the next generation. Peace to you as well! This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it. -Admiral Josh Painter The past was alterable. Kids used to spend alot of their energy at school. Now zero breaks for us parents!! Quoting: Oxi moran Oh I’m glad you think sending them to school is your break in life. Maybe you’ll gain a little more respect for teachers now. On a different note, they’re starting online teaching, so not only does my wife have to still baby sit your kids, she has to do it 8 months pregnant, and with a 2 y/o running around because btw they shut down daycare’s too. That’s why we got the damn daycare was because we have to work. Well i guess the good news is-it will never go back to the way it was.. |

Not the poster but some people should have never had kids to start with. I can only imagine the stress in some households with not having a break from kids to people that are not good parents to start with. Probably, a lot of marital fights going on as well when forced to spend extended time together. |

The wife and I are (thankfully) both working from home, so don't have time to monitor my 13yo son. He hated school, so this is like summer for him. We can't force him to go outside and play, or keep up his studies while we work. Quoting: Writemeaticket Red WTF? Dinner is served after he has completed his studies. No study, no eat. Until your military service has required you neutralize enemy combatants and invaders in the defense of your country, don't presume to tell us that have defended you that you don't support every shot we fired to eliminate that enemy. |

They are driving us nuts!!! I can see there being a lot of folks doing themselves in tbh as horrible as that sounds, people have had enough with it all. Jobs lost no money saved up for shit like this most all living pay cheque to pay cheque. Some places not helping and demanding bills rather than letting them off for 3 months in a hope this will pass. |
