Well, I feel sorry for you if you think being at home compares to being in prison! If my home was such a horrible place to be, I'd seriously consider moving.

Danger of not being in quarantine? Since you can be infected without showing symptoms, allowing people to wander about only spreads the disease more. One month out of everyone's lives would kill off the virus, but ONLY if people cooperate. The original SARS is gone, died off.

This virus could also potentially die off and be no more, but only if people cooperate. It will continue to live on as long as it continues to find people to infect. Personally, I don't mind spending a month at home if that means this virus will be a thing of the past, never to rear its ugly head again. That to me is better than having to deal with this illness year after year after year after year. The economy might take a hit for a short time, but that's much better than having to extend quarantines for month after month after month just because people refuse to cooperate. Quarantines that drag on for month after month after month would be far more devastating to the economy.
