Re: How has the coronavirus affected your job?
Business is booming, but people aren't paying their bills. They expect me to make deliveries on time but refuse to pay their bills on the terms they've agreed too.

They've been using the coronavirus as an excuse that their accountant is working from home and don't have access. To that I respond to them if they're not working, how can you be working and getting your paycheck? And oh, do they get angry if I hold their shipment.

I'm pretty sure we're going to see some mafia style attacks on people soon.

I'm working from home. Was just about to get cut by 50% until Trump saved the day with the Small Business Loans. My company already has an appointment to apply on Friday and they can borrow enough for expenses for two months. Praying that does it.

So far, looks like more than half of us have been affected in some way.

I'm so sorry guys. It's depressing.

Re: How has the coronavirus affected your job?
Laid off since March 20th.
Was supposed to go back March 27th, but got a call the day after Michigan told people to stay home, not going back until the 13th now.
Probably going to get another call next week, I get the feeling FCA is going to put off opening their factories back up.(Last I heard they were targeting April 14th, but with how many cases and deaths Michigan is getting I don't see them doing that, or rather I don't see the UAW letting them do that.)

I just hope my next unemployment check is the amount set for all the COVID-19 lay offs, if not, I'm going to be pretty screwed if this goes on much longer.

I put "laid off", but earning 3/4 of my income as an artist means my customer base is gone for the foreseeable future where I live.

No idea what I will do. Thank goodness (and GLP) I am a prepper and can probably get by for the next few months on what I do have coming in.

Part time funeral transporter here. I usually do 1 a day as I'm part-time, but for the last 2 weeks it's been 2 a day! We have proper ppe or else we would all walk.

For anyone in the death industry you have gone from 60 hour weeks to 90 and you are making huge $

Btw, all those hoaxtards who video the hospitals I'm telling you we know how to get in and get out. No one usually sees us. So use your head and don't waste your time trying to film the hospitals...film the crematories. I know for FACT they are running 24/7 in Michigan. They can't keep up and are running out of cooler space. So all you dummies, go video the crematories. They are making money hand over fist.

I can't believe no one else thought of this

I started my unemployment application. I have to get some info from my HR and then I can finish that application. Meantime, I can try to start contracting work from hospitals. They have to be swamped, right?

Re: How has the coronavirus affected your job?
Still working, deemed essential. But they allowed people to take 2 weeks off unpaid and no unemployment. Lots took it and so all of us that stayed are working short handed as fuck.
The company just did that to avoid law suits i believe. That way they can say to anyone still working and gets sick that they gave them a chance to stay home and still keep their job with no points.
No xtra pay for all of us that stayed, nothing but more headaches.

I'm actually busier now than I've ever been and I've had to take on more staff!

I build apps for businesses and I've been very busy building "click and collect" and "click and deliver"apps for small shops like, wine/beer shops where people are reluctant to visit

I just got furloughed, and I wasn't expecting it. I type medical reports, so I thought if anything, I'd have more work than I could handle. Turns out that's not the case. No end date was provided to me, so I have no clue how long this will last.

I'm freaking out. I have no clue what will happen to me long-term. I'll be okay for maybe a month, two at most, and that is just barely scraping with bare necessities.

I thought I'd poll you guys and see how you're all faring.

Re: How has the coronavirus affected your job?
I run a parts shuttle to a Ford plant. Plant closed indefinitely, laid off two weeks ago, latest word is reopening between April 14 and May 1, but I'm not very optimistic. I'm currently drawing unemployment, should get my fist check next week. I'll prob stay on UE until it runs out or Ford comes back on line. With the extra $600, I'm only missing what I would normally get by about $100.

If the shutdown lasts longer than that, I'll prob call a few people I know and go back to over the road. I have hauled groceries before and it sucked major ass before all this covid shit. From what I've been told from friends who still do it, it is a total shit show now. I'd go back to FedEx line haul or hauling chickens before I'll do grocery again.

My wife hauls for Toyota and she has been laid off until May as well. She has to use all her saved vacation time before she can draw UE.

Honestly I'd rather be in my truck hauling parts but if I go someplace else, I will loose my run when Ford comes back. It took me two years to get it and it clears me $1200+ a week. No way I'm walking away from that unless I absolutely have no other choice.

Thank you! I will do my best. Fortunately, I was prepared for a month or two ahead of time. I have a little bit of wiggle room as long as I am super careful. It won't be easy, but I'll make it.

As long as things turn back around in the next couple months, anyway. If not, we're all screwed.

Apply for unemployment. You'll receive your weekly base + $600 extra a week. After your 26 weeks runs out, you can get an additional 13 weeks of coverage through the Feds. Look up your state's Unemployment website.
