So, let me get this straight. The reason the scientists believe and assume that it was not manufactured is because it has components they have never found in any virus in nature and doesn't use a previously used virus backbone?

So, the scientists are saying they rather assume that their is some unknown virus; virus x if you will, out there somewhere in nature that somehow naturally gave rise to this virus, than assume the reason there are components that differ from any known virus, is because those sections may not come from nature at all but a lab using CRISPer like technology.

The idea of the counterintutiveness of the virus also assumes the desired purpose and outcome of the virus by the viral engineer.

Because of these passages during testing and development, the mutational background has varied from "library" sequences. These "library" discrepancies are what these nay-saying biologists hang their conclusions on.

Aside from a shitstorm of circumstantial evidence and a peer-reviewed paper trail suggesting development in biowarfare related research labs, there exist a couple of very well written papers offering statistical analyses on the subject that bolster the conclusion of "Artificial."
