Do not know how true this is... he likes to think he is uber important.. personally, I would love to kick him in the face!!! Spinning on the Pause...Rewind |
Everwayne (OP) User ID: 73836031 United States 04/07/2020 11:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just buy a cheap disposable for calling 911 and keep it in the car turned off. You really should have one with you in a car at night, that is one of the great things about it. No more standing on the side of a dark road hoping some kind stranger spots you. You call AAA or 911. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16762662 I don't have a smart phone, I have a 3G trac phoon flip. If they force 5G on all phones, at that point I won't have one. So when you say you won't have one if they force 5g, if your away from home, how will you make a call or receive an important call from your employer or family? Just like people did in the 70's and 80's.. check messages when you get home. I hear you. I think that's a viable option other than if an employer expects you to always be available, but that's just another control mechanism. |
Everwayne (OP) User ID: 73836031 United States 04/07/2020 11:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In Oslo, Norway, they are going to track us now (openly). Quoting: Dataskrekk Fun experiments: Leave phone at home and see if you get tracked regardless (here we will receive message on phone if doing wrong). Then we know they likely use face recognition. Leave phone at home and have a face mask on and see if you get tracked regardless. That would be interesting;) At some point, leaving home without trackable phone will get you in prison. So with all the threads about tracking us with our smartphones it has got me thinking about ditching my smartphone and getting a little flip phone with no internet capabilities. So I'm wondering if any of you have done this and are there even cell phones available now that can't be tracked? By the way I do know they have been tracking us with our cellphones for some time now. Quoting: Everwayne Damn I can see that happening, cop stops you, asks for license, insurance, and proof of phone/tracker. Crazy. |

But there are dumbphones without internet, gps and bluetooth. Cheap as fuck haha. "A strange game. But you need a cell without data, web or GPS. I know, I have one. kerdizo User ID: 78129331 United States 04/07/2020 11:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hey OP, for some added credibility I used to be an AT&T store manager... There are a few ways to have a cell phone that you use only when you want to, even a smart phone with all of your games, camera, or "bells and whistles" as the older folk used to call them. Most likely your cell phone has either a physical SIM card in the device which gives the device a code in which the towers use to communicate with. Without this SIM card in the phone, no matter what type of phone it is, it is unable to connect to any service. Most phones (if not all of them) do not have built in GPS like a Garmin, your GPS watch, or your car may have, they rely on internet access to pinpoint your location, or if you are using cell service you are able to use that ban width to connect to satellites if there is no wireless internet access near you. There are two main groups of smart phones, Iphone or IOS (Iphone Operating System) or Android (Samsung, Huaweii, LG, ETC) Apple users beware, these phones and operating systems are designed to be tamper resistant meaning you cannot change any setting, or reprogram your device without a crapload of knowledge and tools at you disposal. So any form of trying to stay off the grid with Apple devices is almost a lost cause. however you are still able to take your phone offline completely by removing your physical SIM card that I mentioned above by using a paper clip. Doing this coupled with shutting the phone down after turning off WIFI and Bluetooth should make your Iphone a ghost for the general public, but iPhones are designed to be secure and trackable by default meaning even if your WIFI is off, the phone can still be tracked even if it is NEAR a wifi enabled location. when you want to make a call, slip in your SIM card and make a call, otherwise you're off the grid (for the most part) and Android users you're in luck Androids can be jail broken and reprogrammed with ease, removing any and all factory settings which come with the device in order to make tracking your expensive device trackable and recoverable if it were ever to become lost or stolen. Same deal goes with android users, remove that SIM card and turn off your WIFI and bluetooth, couple that with a jailbroken device and boom, untraceable device. Throw in your prepaid or "burner" phone numbers SIM card to make calls and you're free. SIDE NOTE: some smart phones have built in SIM cards that CANNOT be physically removed without taking the phone apart and carefully doing some surgical work on your motherboard. If you have an active SIM card the only way to deactivate it totally would be to remove it, just changing your SIM to a physical SIM won't do the trick if you're looking to be completely non-trackable. also flip phones and any other wirelessly connected device with have one fo these SIM cards in it, its just a matter of finding it. Good luck all, and stay safe out there! -kerdizo |

I know whenever you make or receive a call your location is traceable, but are you saying these phones can be pinpointed at anytime just like smartphones? Yes, they can. Recent example: Did you see this video of how they tracked "anonymously" all the cell phones present at Spring Break and where those cell phones eventually travelled to for the next 7 days because of COVID-19? Good luck all, and stay safe out there! Almost all modern phones can operate without a SIM card present to make 911 calls. They made it a law many years ago. If the phone can make a 911 call without a SIM present, then it's whereabouts are known to the cellular towers/carriers. As you mentioned, there are ways to root the OS on Android to spoof things like the IMEI # and other things, but the average person looking for anonymity isn't going to go through all that. But if you buy a PAYG (contract-free) phone from a shop, and don't register your name or address with anything on the internet, how are they going to know that blip on the radar is you? The phone is able to calculate turns, distance, velocity, in/out of car, etc. from it's last known location, to the location you take it out of the bag. Even in Airplane mode, it is tracking your "movement" and then reports it to Google after you turn it back on. It does NOT need to be connected to cel towers or GPS Satellites to track your movement. As above, so below. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78380533 they wont. they can't. buy with cash, of course. the phone could be traced in other ways depending on how you use it, and if they can link it to you somewhere, but it would be very difficult. if you use it for completely mundane things then there's no worry at all. the phone data may still be added to collecting programs but not with your name, not connected to you. anyone buying with a credit card and creating a mobile account in their name is a fool, but billions do it without thinking. |

Blocks RF signals and GPS, effectively making it a disconnected brick. Carry it wherever you want and if you need to use it you can take it out whenever you desire and it works. Effectively eliminates the ability for your phone to act as a 24/7 tracking device for geo/microphone/etc. P.S. Make sure to put it in airplane mode or it'll burn it's own battery trying to find a signal. |

Of course, they “sell” that as a very cool feature, but in reality that information is being funneled to TPTB. . I will not own a car with that crap on it. My 2008 had it but the module was removable and only required a flash of the computer to turn off the notice that it was not working. Some cars require unsoldering the antenna from the module and leaving it installed. |
