I spent some brief time in Massachusetts years ago. I don’t know about now but it struck me as a very “white” state. That is, I think the Asian and Black population is quite low anyway. Could this be the reason for the percentage differences? When you say “1%” do you mean 1% of the victims were Asian, or 1% of Asians contracted it? The former might be in line with general state demographics, the latter would suggest more of a racial bias. I don’t know enough about the actual demographics to be sure...just my impression from a summer there years ago.
