By the way there are 10's of millions of illegal immigrants in the country already.

Do they expect us to believe those illegals just disappeared overnight?

Exactly. They're laid up on their asses drawing disability or some shit or working construction jobs for cash. This is all a bunch of horseshit. I'll grow my own. Fuck these motherfuckers!

At a local market that normally sells overstock dry goods I bought 2 cases of Bananas, 2 cases of Strawberries and 2 cases of tomato's for $20.
They were $5 a case or 3 for $10.

All my friends, neighbors, family and coworkers now have strawberries, Bananas and tomato's.

These were large cases that normally go to restaurants.

One Green Karma point and a thumbs for not only thinking about your fellow human being but kind enough to share your extras with your fellow human being, Jeff 43. May you survive the later Christian Apocalypse events.
Conspiracy Theorist is nothing more than a derogatory title used to dismiss a critical thinker.

"Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order [referring to the 1991 LA Riot]. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond [i.e., an "extraterrestrial" invasion], whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government.” - Dr. Henry Kissinger, Bilderberger Conference, Evians, France, 1991

"Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as internationalists and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure; one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it." - David Rockefeller

"The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries... We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis, and the nations will accept the New World Order." - David Rockefeller

As some misguided liberals complain about fruits "left rotting on the trees" because Trump's immigration crackdown has left no undocumented migrants to pick the vegetables (a demonstrably false assumption), the Associated Press has offered an explanation for this phenomenon that also illustrates how disruptions in the businesses like the hospitality and food-service industry work their way through the supply chain, ultimately sticking farmers in the American Farm Belt with fields of vegetables that they can't sell, or even donate as local food pantries are now full-up with donations from restaurants.

The AP started its story in Palmetto, Fla. a city in Manatee County on the Gulf Coast, where a farmer had dumped piles of zucchini and other fresh vegetables to rot
 Quoting: Don Draper from Nantucket

OMG, this is terrible. I was about to ask why they would do this as grocery stores are still operating but I didn't think about restaurants and hotels which buy must massive quantities of food.
In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.

“Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.”

I wanna know where all the damn flour is though...everybody wanna bake bread and cookies but don't wanna buy fruits and veggies? I waited 2 weeks for King Arthur to ship 15lbs of flour and probably going to wait another for fedex to deliver.

This kind of stupid greed is unacceptable.

YES, better to give the produce away than to let it rot! People will be hungry soon. Use what bounty you've been given. If you cannot sell it at the usual profit, then it is vastly better to allow people to pick it and use it.

In capitalism, when you get high demand, you raise prices and sell high, with low demand, you lower prices and sell low.

In Fake Capitalism in America, you just destroy the crops to keep prices high.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78702359

Even if the farmers gave the produce away, are the trucks gonna haul it for free? Are the folks gonna unload it for free? Are the stores gonna sell it for free?

There is a whole supply chain of people who make money off of delivering products. They aren't going to do it for free.

Somebody has to pay or else you can grow your own vegetables and milk your own cows. That's reality.

Aren't all those people receiving subsidies from the government? If there is a subsidy gap, fill it. Those found to be engaging in waste while receiving government subsidies, should be cut off for seven years from receiving any kind of grant or subsidy.

The total number of people isn't changing that much so the demand for food shouldn't be changing that much.

Subsidy gap- no one in any business should get subsidies. If you want to bitch about capitalism you're in the wrong country.

Yes that post above has a ton of idiocy.

So there ya go, we've got folks like AC902 who will post a large number of quotes then say, Stop, ya'll is hurting my little knoggen, but they do not an effort to educate those that are accused of being stupid.

It's been said several times over the course of three pages that:
1. Farmers are greedy and want slave wage labor.
2. The product for the 'Consumer Super Market' supply chain is still entering the pipeline with out interruption; the root of articles, such as the one posted by OP'ie, is to get folks to panic and hoard again and absorb product not being sold to restaurants and dining establishments due to the effects of State orders to shutter their business.
3.Product going to waste is due to shuttered business, not to supply chain problems. While a portion of the excess produce is being given away, the shipping is not free. In Louisiana, food banks are being asked by donators to, "Pick up on site".

When you see articles such as the one OP'ie has linked to, take them with a very large grain of Salt. Use what ever common sense God, the Earth, Ya Mom en Dem, or what ever it is you believe in, to ask the question, what's not being said, what is the motivation, what is the rest of the story.

As Dr. Gregory House always says, "Everyone Lies".

You'll be required to get a certificate from your state DHH office (2 to 6 months waiting time. You'll also need a general business Lic. that would allow you to sell / make donations door to door. If you're doing this as a charitable, you'll need 501 certification else you'll need a state and county tax certificate, and pay tax on the 'inventory'.

You'll also be required to carry insurance and maybe a bond. You'll need a proper commercial vehicle (road use tax paid).

Your best bet is to tie up to a church

Part of the problem is the ridiculous level of regulations in the USA today. If people go picking their own and there's a rotten food, or a picker breaks a fingernail, the farmer gets sued. It ain't worth the effort.

This could be mitigated fast if the regulations were removed and there was a federal expediter(czar) that would make sure the food was not wasted. Nobody has even talked about this. Such a thing needs to be done via executive authority tomorrow, not next week! Think federal payments to continue these crops and chopping regulations. Filling up our food reserves is a worthy idea after the previous regimes raided them.

Governors could help, but they're too busy getting off on their own power trips. Opening the damn restaurants or starting a canning operation would fix this. Government can help, but it only has a few brians to work with. Every farmer has one or more of his own and that makes for a smarter country if they were allowed to help fix the problem.
