YES, better to give the produce away than to let it rot! People will be hungry soon. Use what bounty you've been given. If you cannot sell it at the usual profit, then it is vastly better to allow people to pick it and use it. |

Couldn't they just can/freeze all that shit ? I suppose that's not the farmers province though Hmmmm... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78731572 My thoughts exactly! I am growing my garden and getting goats. NOT buying meat or produce from a store nor a farm. Let them go out of business. If there's nowhere to send the food, there's nowhere to send the food. Maybe send them a truck if you want their food? |

The AP started its story in Palmetto, Fla. a city in Manatee County on the Gulf Coast, where a farmer had dumped piles of zucchini and other fresh vegetables to rot In capitalism, when you get high demand, you raise prices and sell high, with low demand, you lower prices and sell low. In Fake Capitalism in America, you just destroy the crops to keep prices high. |

Here's the best advice from a long time food freedom fighter. First, plant everything you can yourself. Second, do PRIVATE contract with people who grow food. The globalist agenda has always been to control the land, control the food and therefore control the people. Resist. Grow yer own and support your local farmers. Things are bad enough, there is no need to make anything up. ~Fluffy "Never interrupt an enemy in the process of destroying himself." Quercitin and zinc...Get it. Take it. Are the folks gonna unload it for free? Are the stores gonna sell it for free? There is a whole supply chain of people who make money off of delivering products. They aren't going to do it for free. Somebody has to pay or else you can grow your own vegetables and milk your own cows. That's reality. |

Aren't all those people receiving subsidies from the government? If there is a subsidy gap, fill it. Those found to be engaging in waste while receiving government subsidies, should be cut off for seven years from receiving any kind of grant or subsidy. |

In Fake Capitalism in America, you just destroy the crops to keep prices high. Part of the problem is the ridiculous level of regulations in the USA today. If people go picking their own and there's a rotten food, or a picker breaks a fingernail, the farmer gets sued. It ain't worth the effort. This could be mitigated fast if the regulations were removed and there was a federal expediter(czar) that would make sure the food was not wasted. Nobody has even talked about this. Such a thing needs to be done via executive authority tomorrow, not next week! Think federal payments to continue these crops and chopping regulations. Filling up our food reserves is a worthy idea after the previous regimes raided them. Governors could help, but they're too busy getting off on their own power trips. Opening the damn restaurants or starting a canning operation would fix this. Government can help, but it only has a few brians to work with. Every farmer has one or more of his own and that makes for a smarter country if they were allowed to help fix the problem. |
