I said a prayer for you. One thing I learned many years ago is you can always ask God for help/guidance when times are troubling. But you also have to remember to pray and thank Him for your blessings as well. Otherwise you will be looked over as selfish.

Keep positive, and may Jesus protect you!

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

Re: Can you say a prayer for me? Depression won't go away.
What is God's Purpose for it all?
To find those that love God
for The Kingdom of God.

Read the words of Jesus Christ for yourself.
He will speak to you.
He is True.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.

Depression has tormented me for 18 years. I am so tired. I have tried everything but nothing helps.

I pray to God every day asking him to please help me. I have lost count of the times I have cried myself to sleep, begging God for mercy..

This world is only pain for me, but I am too afraid to take my life. So I feel trapped..

I hope I am not asking too much, but can you PLEASE take 1 minute of your time and say a prayer for me?

My name is Andreas, a 33 y/o man from Norway. Thank you so much.

If you have some wise words to share that would also help..

First of all, I’m so sorry to hear about your depression; I can’t imagine dealing with it for 18 years. But know, it doesn’t have to be 19!

I’ve dealt with depression but nowhere near 18 years; you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for. It’s a long time and it seems easier just to give up but I assure you, you were tasked with this great struggle because you’re meant to overcome it... and overcome it, you will.

Please know the mind creates the body and you ARE in control of your mind. There’s a great documentary on Netflix called “Heal” that goes into detail about this. Many stories of people curing their terminal cancers; walking out of a hospital after breaking their neck; curing their depression. It’s been done and you will do it, too.

I’m not saying it’s easy because I know it’s so hard but you need to stop thinking this is happening to you and realize you’re actually in control of it and it will stop when you take control of your mind. It’s not easy but you’re not weak - you’ve got decades dealing with this, it has nothing on you!

Also, look into the Wes Penre Papers. It’s a lot to do with ET and esoteric info but the core of it details that we are in control of our lives and what happens on the outside of us is actually a reflection of our inward mentality; we are so strong and can change our lives starting now.

The best way out is through, my friend.

Andreas - get an alternative MD to check your Neurotransmitter levels. Sam-E is a supplement that affects the neurotransmitters in the brain and dispels depression.Sometimes just a simple imbalance chemically can be righted easily. And stay away from sugar - "sugar blue" result.

Also know that quite a lot of the global population is depressed at the moment due to all the craziness and lockdowns.

Good luck - hope you feel better soon.

Absolutely OP, and sorry to hear you are experiencing this. I will definitely pray for you.

Have you ever tired EMDR therapy? It was the thing that FINALLY got me out of that cycle. You have to find a good therapist who does it, some are just silly, but it really worked for me.

EDIT - I should add that it wasn't just EMDR therapy: I take medication as well, and did a ton of regular counseling too, as well as work out, quit alcohol and drugs - I had to take a holistic approach and get serious about feeling better to get out of it. But it paid dividends, and I know it can for you too.

Best wishes - hang in there!

You've obviously never suffered from clinical depression. If it was that easy, everyone who suffered from it could just make a decision to be happy, and boom! Yay! That was easy!

I've been there. No one who really suffers WANTS to feel that way, and I know I tried EVERYTHING to feel better, took me years to get past it. As I said in my post to OP - EMDR finally helped me get out of the pit.

Clinical Depression isn't forever either though, is it?

Nothing is forever.
You can live a life doing what you wish and for yourself and be content, or you can live a life doing everything else for others and being a miserable as sin.
Either way neither of the two ways are forever. And that's the choice you have. One of the 2.

Re: Can you say a prayer for me? Depression won't go away.
Google magnesium deficiency and depression, it is a huge cause of depression.

Take 400 mg. magnesium taurate in the a.m. and another in the evening.

Also run a hot bath with epsom salt, a couple cups, added to the water. Sit in there for an hour.
It is magnesium sulfate, it is natural, and you get the sulfur mineral also. Do this 3 times a week for several months while taking the magnesium supplement.

Many people are depressed because of this deficiency..there are also a large list of other symptoms.

It takes a few months before feeling the benefit,,so keep it up.

Do this research, and I hope and also pray that you feel better.

I had a traumatic time when I was a teenager, something that completely knocked me out mentally. I lost the will to live and have felt dead inside ever since. I keep asking God why me..

I have always tried my best. Been to years and years of treatment, different medications.. I even tried ECT treatment on my brain. Doctors don't know what to do anymore.

I try every day to fight and be positive, but my brain does not co-operate.

Thing is, medication has gotten such a bad wrap over the last several years. But fact is, some people do have a chemical imbalance that causes the incorrect amounts of serotonin, dopamine, etc to be produced, or perhaps another issue with their synapses that causes the uptake to work incorrectly, which can lead to depression, anxiety or other issues. And for such cases, no amount of just thinking positive or counseling or anything else is going to work completely. It would be like telling a diabetic, "just think positive - make a decision that you won't let the problems your body has producing insulin get you down." Brain chemistry is no different.

That being said, are psychoactive meds like antidepressants over prescribed? Definitely, without question. But there are some people for whom they can be life or death. I am one of those people, and OP might be too. That's all I'm saying.

Hi OP,
Pleasure to meet a distant “cousin from Norway” so to speak.hf

This Good Friday is the perfect day to reflect on just how Jesus overcame depression, shame, guilt , bondage and everything that separates us from God and His relationship with each and every one of us, His precious children.

His death on the Cross and His victory over death. He was the sacrifice.....

Jesus knew depression...His fully knew that His whole life on earth was to culminate in excruciating pain and finally isolation from those He counted as His friends.

Yet the Word says that for the joy that was set before Him he endured the cross.

Our liberation and salvation was His joy!

There is no greater gift than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Jesus is your friend and He is your Hope.

“Cast your cares on Him, for HE cares for you”

I will be praying for you, OPhugs

Ok, this makes me think you REALLY want to check EMDR out. It is primarily used for PTSD - was used initially to treat Vietnam vets, then rolled out in a greater capacity after success with them.
