Quoting: Fhirinne Just wondering as I've come across the silver grain for melting down. Seems loads cheaper and easy to get than the coins and known bars. Keep to your fiat and leave the metals to people that are wiser. Just asking a question, and fiat are you kidding me! You are the CEO of your own wellness. You need to take back your health from the disease-care system |

Weed. Slaves. Guns. Weapons. Livestock. Food. No ain't going to care a fiddler's fuck about you, your intentions, your last name or anything. If you are talking a shiny metal that really doesn't trade with anyone, then be prepared to be both horribly disappointed and very unprepared. |

Have plenty of survival skills, plus metal working, wood working and plant skills as in what people can eat and how to grow them, and which are medicinal. Silver and gold will always be worth something to someone. But none of this is anything to do with what I asked. You are the CEO of your own wellness. If you are talking a shiny metal that really doesn't trade with anyone, then be prepared to be both horribly disappointed and very unprepared. I wholeheartedly disagree. People will always need a representation of value. It helps facilitate trade because what if I have beans for trade and you have sugar, but you want salt and I want flour? That doesn't really make for an easy exchange of goods or services. Fiat will still hold some value early one in a breakdown situation as people will still be used to it as the go to means of exchange, as things get towards the mid stages, you may have a period where barter takes place and soon after people will start to consolidate some sort of currency. Likely this will be in the form of precious metals, but may be some other commodity in the interim between early and late stages. As the later stages kick in and people start to rebuild, you will almost certainly see gold, silver and copper as the primary currency. |
