Interesting! I have a paypal but not the cash card. I’m gonna have to get it sent to my old address in America and then someone there send it to Australia so it’s gonna be a long time anyways. I stupidly closed my American bank account so as not to pay the fees (before coronavirus).

Thanks! Yea I’ve read through everything and since I haven’t filed for a couple years I gotta do the non filers portal. They didn’t even have it up a week ago and I did the “simple” filing but it turns out you can’t file online if you have no income. So I wasn’t about to print it out and mail in my 1040 from friggen Australia.

Don’t you love how it says not to call? I’ve called them bunches of times and enjoy talking to the disdainful black people that work there. If we could just call them about this, it would be so much simpler. They never make anything simple.

Huh! I used the free filing through turbotax and it said the irs is the ones who won’t let me file online with zero income. I downloaded the PDF just in case they didn’t make a better portal. It was very depressing.

Super weird. I got to turbotax through the irs website, so didn’t look at their main page. I swear this shit doesn’t make any sense, it’s like magic. Owell at least they have the non filers portal now. It sounds fairly easy.

Let us all know when you get your snail mail check! Or maybe try to call their asses if you’re bored.

Lol my family will send it (and I’ll have to pay them back because it’s damn expensive). Just got something else from them and I could see it was $22.34 just to send me some paperwork in a manilla envelope. The post office there stamped it like 57 times too, it was weird.

It’s not like I can fly anywhere right now either
