PLEASE ... I did the same, sort of. My neighbors husband died on Good Friday, she was beyond heartbroken, scared she couldn’t afford a proper headstone. I put the $ down on his headstone & part of the cost for the burial plot, so she could pick whatever she wanted out. Both of them are wonderful people and would give you the last penny they had if you needed it, so I chose to pay it forward and take some of the stress off of the wife. Best thing I could have spent the $ on, a LOCAL headstone business received payment upfront for a headstone, and my neighbor doesn’t have to worry she can’t honor her hubby the way she feels he deserves. This stimulus check fiasco will hopefully bring out the best in people |
