China says now that they knew back in November there was an issue. So logic would say if it had been spreading around the world since November 2019 we all have been exposed and if that is the case the death rate divided by infected is on pace with the flu.

Yes you will get more deaths, just like from the flu or a car accident but they are dividing the death rate using the confirmed infected divided by deaths. That brings it way up. Calculate the death rate like you do the flu each year and the numbers are much lower.

You can not ruin millions and millions of peoples lives by keeping everything closed. I get it , it was a novel virus and the estimates were unknown but they are known now.

Also how can you just start adding deaths to the rolls like in NY without testing them????

Back in mid-November last year I came down with a flu-like bug that seemed to go away after about a week or ten days, and then came back for a week before going away completely.

I don’t recall having all of the typical COVID symptoms, but I do recall losing my sense of smell, and experiencing a huge reduction in my ability to taste.

I understand that the loss of smell or taste can be a symptom of colds or influenza infections too. Although I don’t ever recall having a loss of smell that profound.

It’s hard to say whether I had coronavirus or something else. I live in southern Ontario, Canada, and mid-November is a little bit early for flu outbreaks to happen.

For what it’s worth, I am a survivor of the 1968 Hong Kong flu pandemic. I was just six years old when I caught that bug. I remember my parents telling me once that while I was sick, I slept for two whole days. At one point, my parents weren’t sure if I was going to make it.

I’ve had a few bouts with colds and flu bugs ever since, like anyone else.
