Solar system and Milky Way doing the splits

Doing the splits: the magnetic field in interstellar space is propelling our solar system along at a 60-90° angle to the rest of the galaxy (Image: iStockphoto)
Our solar system is travelling in a different direction to the rest of the Milky Way, scientists say.

When they used radio signals from two spacecraft nearing interstellar space to map the route, they had some unexpected results.

The researchers determined that the magnetic field in interstellar space is propelling our solar system along at a 60-90° angle to the rest of the galaxy.

That's happening because the part of the interstellar magnetic field that comes closest to our system is not parallel to the spiraling arms of the galaxy, as it appears to be elsewhere.

As a result, our solar system has taken on a bullet-shaped appearance as it soars through space, says Dr Merav Opher, an assistant professor from George Mason University in Virginia, who publishes the research in the journal Science.

The researchers used data from the two 30-year-old Voyager probes and computer modelling to calculate the solar system's position.

To measure our solar system, scientists study the places where the Sun's influence ends and interstellar space begins, an area known as the heliosphere.

The Sun's domain is flecked with ionised particles called the solar wind, which surrounds the system like a bubble. Beyond the bubble is interstellar space, which contains mostly hydrogen and helium.

Researchers modelled the area where the heliosphere runs into the interstellar magnetic field and beyond to find the odd angle.

Studying the interaction between the heliosphere and interstellar space yields insights into phenomena that can affect Earth, such as galactic cosmic rays, points out Professor Randy Jokipii, with the University of Arizona in Tucson, in a related paper in Science.

Voyager 1 has passed through the outer bubble of solar wind is now exploring a transition region known as the heliosheath. Voyager 2 has yet to pass through the solar wind termination zone.

Additional studies are planned using both probes as well as the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, and a new spacecraft called the Interstellar Boundary Explorer, is scheduled to launch next year.

Clear and cool here...and nary a cloud in the sky; everything is where it's supposed to be at this time of the year.

Ok, I go out onto my back porch, facing apprx. North.I live in a rural area. No city lights. Normally I can see the Milky way facing apprx. NE SW, the big dipper, north star, and little dipper. Suddenly tonight I see the Milky way East West and I cannot locate the little or big diper, nor North Star.

Re: Look in the night sky!!! Something is wrong!!!
Well the CHANGE IS occurring and the earth/universe is ascending now...Moving UP.

The earth is mutidimensional.

The change has been occurring from since 1987-1012...2102 being th end of this current world cycle/age.
Obviously the closer we come to the end the more obvious the change occurring will become.
Events becoming more severe and obvious the closer we get to the end of this current world cycle/age.

Everything is being affected due to the change...Animals are becoming confused lately and some exhibiting strange behaviour due to the change occurring and the magnetic field deteriorating.
After the change is complete...Everthing resets itself so speak.
The creation works in SUN CYCLES.

People as well can be affected by the change that is occuring...Actual physical symptoms..Insomnia, Headaches, Depression, Tiredness..Etc.

There will be a lot of mutations occurring due to the change also.

Land masses will sink and other old ones will rise again..The result will be a whole new world map.

The point is that things are CHANGING...This current world creation is coming to it's end...SO expect to notice that fact in many different things around us.

Has happened before and will happen again..This is how creation goes!...At least in it's fallen state it does...And as long as it remains in a fallen state.
As long as humans do not get there act together and transform the DARK in to LIGHT.
Until then the slate will be wiped clean periodically.

so the Sun is departing from this galaxy with many millions of times the speed of light
and the galaxy which has a radius of 300000 light years moves away...

Speaking about a night sky being wrong, read about the Black Hole in the Milky Way galaxy, our next door galaxy thats enough to get us very worried. I watch youtube videos of it and the Black Hole is there, in time all will be sucked down the drain, oops I mean the hole to the end, bye bye galaxies.

I was amazed 2 nights ago to see a big light over London, & came to the conclusion it was a 'planet,' either Venus or Mars, but seemed 'bigger' than normal.. I've also seen smaller brighter lights zip across the sky at high speed & suddenly stop and/or change direction at breath-taking speed!!
