Washingtonians : The governor's COVID-19 "Response Plan" continues lockdown indefinitely

Today Washington's Governor Inslee issued a statement that the current stay at home order in place through May 4, will remain in place indefinitely. Inslee uses vague terms to explain a "phased in" approach, and that decisions will be made in the upcoming weeks or months! Of course the Governor kindly warns that a second lockdown will happen if the virus comes back... Note the reliance on "health projections" in the bold language below. He relies on projections instead of actual data that shows that Washington's death rate has lagged behind many other states for the past two weeks.

"Inslee said it is unlikely many restrictions under the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order will be modified before May 4. Rather, this plan is intended to be a framework for the loosening of restrictions contingent on a steady decrease of the spread of COVID-19.

“It will look more like the turning of the dial than the flip of a switch,” Inslee said in the address. “We’re going to take steps and then monitor to see whether they work or if we must continue to adapt.”

Depending on health projections for the spread of the virus, some distancing restrictions may be in place for weeks or months to come."
