Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78825092 May/June is going to be very "interesting". It's the worst thing that can happen, with so many people out of work, many were struggling before all this. Worst case scenario unfolding. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78830458 United States 04/22/2020 02:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Revelation 6:6, NIV: "Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, 'Two pounds of wheat for a day's wages, and six pounds of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!'" Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78830458 the voice from the midst of the four living creatures also commanded, "Do not harm the oil and wine!" Oil and wine, in this context, are less crucial supplies, making them a form of minor luxury. The implication that these are not harmed might suggest that wealthy people would not be hurt by the economic or inflationary catastrophe. According to Revelation 13:16–17, the false prophet in Jerusalem will control commerce during the tribulation, making it extremely difficult for tribulation believers to purchase even basic commodities [link to www.bibleref.com (secure)] |

That adds up fast. Sometimes one or two of them are just greedy overall, and mark prices up a bit too much. :DOCSRBAFFLED::redblueLED::DONTBEAPANDEMICS: Only you can stop the fake pandemic for yourself, no one will ever tell you the pandemic is over. Nefarious Libertine User ID: 40488826 United States 04/22/2020 02:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not inflation. It's grocery stores taking advantage of the situation. I've noticed coffee is $2 dollars more than before. Amazon is even worse. I saw a 55lbs bag of 00flour for pasta making going for $99. Gouging plain and simple. We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be: The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence. Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty. The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires We are at the end of the Age of Decadence heading into COLLAPSE |

LaGata User ID: 75733009 United States 04/22/2020 02:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've seen a reduction in my food bill since I'm @ home and can more easily plan and cook. I am saving about $120/week on gas so it helps. Examples: 1. Effort of preparation saves $$ Instead of picking up a $3.75 egg sandwich because I'm running late, I get a $5 dozen organic eggs from my farmer neighbor. I make artisan bread (takes 10 min to prep and let it rise), that costs me maybe 0.75 per loaf. I use a little grated cheese. Instead of $20 bucks a week in breakfast sammies, I'm spending maybe $7 on breakfast per week (factoring in coffee). 2. Adjusting tastes & making do Instead of sandwich or something fancier, I made a dish of rice with spices and chickpeas. I used a cup of rice and a can of chickpeas plus an onion, some garlic & a chopped red pepper, and a bunch of spices. It had to cost $2.00 tops to make. I have eaten it 3x for lunch and still have another serving or two! It tasted good, but yes I would rather have a pizza slice, a fancy salad, etc. You get what you get sometimes. 3. Waste not want not I did spring for a whole pasture-raised chicken. Not gonna lie, it was like $17! But...it provided 2 nights of hearty dinner for 2 people. That's $8.50 per person per night. When you look at my other meal costs, that's still really cheap. Then I took the carcass and mined it for every scrap. I made a chicken salad. That's another lunch. Then I boiled the bones and made a huge pot of soup. Added veggies, noodles, and a bit of the chicken scraps I had set aside. Probably cost me $3.00 because I added veggies and potatoes plus the noodles. 4. Simplify the Drinks I have been drinking water and tea. Tea is very cheap. I also take bits of ginger and lemon and make iced teas. No soda or juices here. We do the fresh fruit so we get the fiber. Things are tough for sure, but changes/substitutions/cuts have to happen. It sucks but can be done with grace and reasonably good taste if you are willing to work at food prep in your home. It's not bad, can be fun. ~~*NOT* a very nice kitty!~~ "Plan for the worst, hope for the best, and don't live in fear." |

People need to prep. Bags of rice, pounds of bullion, will keep many people alive. Get a 55gallon water barrel and stuff a bag of potatoes in it that have buds on them. Place any light over them so they know which way is up. Dont let them get cold. Years worth of food for a $100. People need to stop thinking the gov will save them. No one wants to turn starving children away, or shoot someone in their fields at night that are hungry. Dont put anyone in that position. Stop saving for a vacation, stop buying computer games, beer, and do what needs to be done. |
