Twice on the radio today I heard 2 nonprofit orgs begging for food Donations. Not money but food. Quoting: Bush Master The Christian service mission here locally ran out of food today. They service 4000 families monthly here. The spokes person said it's a supply Chian breakdown. Can not buy in bulk anymore. The city of Birmingham police department is asking for food donations also. They can't feed the crooks in jail now. I have no links. I heard this on the local radio station while working today Talk 99.5 What's happening where you live? This is awful. I pray that they can get the donations they need.  Speaking for my location only, which is a neighboring parish to Orleans Parish, all is okay so far. We have our local councilman and staff who will deliver groceries for those families that cannot afford them or get out to get them. Resident's can also call 211 for emergency food delivery. Also, so far the food banks are doing ok. |
