The Nature of war was changed forever.no longer would the Generals waist hoards of Anzac soldier's on unwinnable scenarios while sitting comfortably out of range. The old Guards days where over and the likes of Hamilton a Birdwood would become a dying breed as the sacrifice of young men would no longer be accepted, for so very little gain.
