China has sent a delegation with government officials and medical professionals to the neighboring country amid rumors about the health of North Korea's dictator Kim Jong-un. That's what insiders say.

Several people familiar with the situation told Reuters on Saturday that the delegation, headed by a senior member of the Chinese Communist Party's International Liaison Department, left Beijing on Thursday. The department is the main Chinese body dealing with neighboring North Korea.

Neither the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing nor the liaison department could initially be reached for an opinion.
