I still use a landline, and have no cellphone.
All good here, I don't believe in replacing what isn't broken, and landlines still work fine.

I won't be surprised if there is a new round of "Obama phones" at some point in the near future. They definitely want everyone carrying a tracking device with them.

I'd just as soon give it up and use a flip phone. I could dial a number by feel and one didn't have to look at the blasted thing.

And I only get my news on a pc. It's shocking how different the news is that one gets on a phone.

You can turn the phone off..they can still track where it has been and where it is.

Get a landline with an answering machine. Worked just fine for decades before we had these fucking smartphones. Have a PC for internet. You don't need internet when you're out of the house... Learn how to read a map for Christ's sake... It's not that hard.

I have a flip phone I carry for road emergencies. It doesn't know who I am. I only carry it for longer trips where I'll be tearing across the desert. THAT is the appropriate use of portable communication technology. Could just as easily be a CB radio, too.

I have never owned a mobile phone anyway, in all these years, and have no intentions of either, why should I buy something I do not want, then have to pay monthly fees to use it, my house phone is good enough thanks. If I need a phone number for registering on a site etc I will ask a mate to lend me theirs. Try and follow me!

I have a land line .. and a smart phone too.. But the cell phone is for taking with me in the car if I have a road accident etc. so I can call the RAC. Never use it for messages etc. However when there is an electrical fault in my house wiring, or my server goes down for some reason the land line phone does not work . Somehow it is connected to my server- then I have to use the cell phone so it is useful in that way.

I have my LPC's to take me to the gas station. I can call from there. I did this forever!

I don't care much for society because they have their face in the damned thing like it's their god!
