Personally speaking I've faced plenty of evil because of my Christian beliefs, although as yet not of a physical nature. I don't know of course, but my hope is that the suffering that all Christians face will be cut short. I hope that you don't have a problem with that. In any case the parable about the labourer's and the vineyard makes the point very clearly. Mat 20:1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. Mat 20:2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. Mat 20:3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, Mat 20:4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Mat 20:5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. Mat 20:6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? Mat 20:7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. Mat 20:8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. Mat 20:9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. Mat 20:10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. Mat 20:11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Mat 20:12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. Mat 20:13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Mat 20:14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Mat 20:15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? Mat 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. |

Notice these. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 3 3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. 4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know. Paul is clearly talking about the Second Coming. NOT a pre-trib rapture. 1 Thessalonians 5 1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, ------------------------------------------------ See how these verses are ALL the same event. They compare what Paul said to what Jesus said. 1. Notice that Verses 16 & 17 are pretty much EXACTLY what Jesus says in the Gospel descriptions. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. ------------------------------------------ 2. Then notice how Paul's verses 15 & 17 match.... 1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
