The fish for sushi is flash frozen to kill worms before cutting....lots of fish have worms.....cod and black drums particularly.....I caught fish handler's disease from stripe bass a few yrs ago.....worms and germs are part of the ecosystem...

thats why

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat until oil reaches 325-350°F. Pat sardines dry with a paper towel and toss with remaining 1/2 cup flour. Carefully dredge each sardine in beer batter and dip into hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until crispy and golden brown, drain on a wire rack or paper towels.

Most Americans think of the little cans when sardines are mentioned.....I love fresh anchovies and sardines(pilchards) simply cooked....just dusting of salt/flour and into the pan.....totally different experience.....

I have had white fish I caught and watched the worms crawling under their skin...ok, hauling ass under the skin.

After they were cooked it was just more protein.

How about pouring coca cola on raw pork and watching the worms come crawling out.
