Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1929030 this sounds like trump giving newsom a nice heads up. we know what you've been doing the last couple years with those 'outages' in cali. PG&E and National Grid were both shutting down power, over driving natural gas, then turning the power back on. Not anymore. They were behind the CA firs and the 120 homes that exploded in Boston. Can they still do it? Probably yes through the Spectre exploit, but not for long. Army corps of Engineers are on it. So are many in the private sector. I’m from that area. Talked to people affected. I always felt that there was WAY more than they were telling us. All you need is to hack the control panel and reroute pressure where you shouldn’t. Then boom. If American companies can tool up to build millions of ventilators, they sure as heck can tool up to rebuild the National Grid...and when can we have our few billions back for BCHydro stolen by Enron so our power prices drop? Quoting: Lance Roseman From BC Yeah. That’s amazing and all, but imagine what happens when areas don’t have electricity for a month, plus. WHy would it be a month or so? Not seeing your connection here? I’m thinking worse case scenario. Let’s be practical there are millions of transformers in the United States. I dont have exact numbers but I am sure someone here knows. The point is, the power companies don’t have enough in storage to replace all of them, not to mention the manpower. I also don’t know how an EMP or hack works exactly, but there are lots of other electronic devices that might need some help too. Edit - it also takes weeks sometimes to restore power to a nation ravaged by a hurricane. We are fools to think an attack on the grid would be nothing similar. The after effects of a broad outage would be closer to NYC in 2004 or the Bahamas during Hurricane Dorian. No power anywhere vs. a normal storm that leaves some areas still in lights. No power=no gasoline, no credit/debit card transactions, sometimes no water. Our society would begin to crumble in days not weeks. |

Items not included in the preceding list and that have broader application of use beyond the bulk-power system are outside the scope of this order. I work in the power generation industry. Most power plants are controlled by Windows 7 desktop computers, linked to Allen Bradley PLCs which actually do the direct controlling of the generation unit. Is there such a thing as a desktop PC made in the USA? I don't think the PLCs are made in the USA either, actually I'm sure they aren't. How the hell am I supposed to go about rectifying this situation? It could cost millions of dollars to convert the PLC logic to an American made PLC, of which I don't even know of one that exists. |

Something is fucky. Trump knows the Deep State fuckers planned to zap us all with ultra-powerful 5G shit that they've been secretly installing all over the place for years. He just took away their ability to turn that destructive shit on. Don't believe me? Take a good look at the streetlights in your city. If American companies can tool up to build millions of ventilators, they sure as heck can tool up to rebuild the National Grid...and when can we have our few billions back for BCHydro stolen by Enron so our power prices drop? Quoting: Lance Roseman From BC The transformers are made in China and South America. They take 18-24 months to get on the "fast track". These are significant assets. Generally, there are no extras kept in stock. I would not doubt the ability of American manufacturing to re-tool and produce this equipment if needed, but to my knowledge, we don't currently have the ability. That said, our grid is just that. It's a redundant electric system. It may not be impenetrable, but we can get it back up and running very quickly if needed. I've spent most of my life working with electricity and our electric grid. My friends and co-workers understand how critical the service that we provide is to our community. We are your neighbors. We don't intend to let you down. A tree fell, late on a Thursday night during a storm. Wiped out the power, tore the mast off the house. We called BCHydro using the battery power from a now defunct car to cut the power. The local electricians showed up Friday afternoon, stayed until 8pm fixed everything, signed off on it, then BCHydro showed up about midnight and checked everything and the power was back on. Three cheers for you and your friends everywhere!
