I not only pay every month, but I texted my landlord and let him know he would continue to get paid on time every month through this. I figured he's appreciate the peace of mind of knowing at least one of his tenants isn't going to be a problem. NOTHING is more important to me than the roof over my family's head, it is my top priority. I really don't understand people that buy TV's or whatever and blow off rent. That eviction is going to come sooner or later, then what are you going to do? You must have missed the part where we were basically letting a homeless guy stay her FOR FREE so he wouldn't have to sleep in his truck in the freezing cold of winter. Never charged him rent or utilities - never took a dime from him. He's only a "tenant" in the legal sense (because this state broadly defines tenancy such that even squatters aare regarded as "tenants" & property owners have to go to court to have them physically evicted by the sheriff) - but there was no lease, was NEVER any rent charged. People would typically call him a "guest who has overstayed his welcome". |

He invoked his "tenants rights" when the eviction ban came down. Fucking fantastic. I came across his stash of dirty needles the other day while cleaning, and I'm fucking done. Despite the fact that he never paid one red cent toward rent or utilities, we can't legally get rid of the asshole. Been there done that, never again. You go out of your way to help people, who then try to fuck you over, treat you like your stupid & use the daylights out of you whilst treating you like crap. Oddly when you finally get them to move out, the " friendship " ends. God forbid you let someone stay as a guest & tell them you don't want them bringing home strangers to root in your spare room ... suddenly YOU are the " control freak ". Fark him, get someone to get him the hell moved on & then no more favours, as more often than not the people only need " favours " as they fucked over the ones before you & ended up thrown out due to it. |

I'm not a "landlord" in any sense - I only have ONE home - MY home. I don't have rental properties. I don't rent to people ever. I let this guy stay here to get his life together (not realizing he was an IV drug addict). This guy is living in MY HOME - rent free from the outset - and all I asked is that he use his time here to get his life together. Now, because of the eviction ban, I'm stuck with him and finding his used drug needles in boxes and cabinet drawers IN MY HOUSE. |
