"The farmers are useless robotic pawns following the governments wants instead of our needs."

The old political joke is..."Farmers vote according

to their last harvest !"

If they made "a lot" of money they voted Republican...

if they are in debt, they vote Democrat to get

some help.

Today the "rich party" is the Democrats.

There are many rich that support policies that are

in their interests and not the "common man's" interest.

I no longer have any farmers in my family but it is

generally true that "farmers" are working to make a

profit. If they don't have a very good chance to make

a profit they get out of farming.

Forty years ago I knew of an old farmer that bought a

new Cadillac auto every two or three years... and

would put "Welfare Cadillac" sticker on the back window.

He was getting paid NOT go grow crops on a certain amount

of land.

To have "bread and circuses"(policy of the Ancient Romans)

to keep the common man"happy" you have to have goobermunt

policy that provides

for a relatively cheap food supply, and entertainment...I

guess

that is why the National Football league is not paying

taxes...so Someone will provide the "entertainment"...

So GOOBERMUNT sets policy that encourages a good supply

of Agi-products...

This isn't necessarily a supply chain breakdown. This may be people getting their stimulus checks and using it to buy food to protect themselves from inflation (e.g. they think food prices are going to rise). So, on a basic level, Americans stocking up on food may be causing the supply chain to have disruptions.

It doesn't mean a complete supply breakdown. As most of this food comes from the United States.

It likely means Americans are stocking up on food expecting inflation in food (prices to go up, continually).

...supply of food will return.

These products were all delivered last week. They will not be delivered next week. And the week following the list will get longer and longer.

Just posting here for those that take the info and do something productive. I'll post more next week if there is more to share.
 Quoting: petractia

Back in January, with the supply chain was disrupted due to the lockdown of China, I knew big parts of the retail economy in the US and elsewhere would start wheezing later in the year. But I was thinking along the lines of non-essential crap sold at Walmart of Dollar Tree. I wasn't thinking as much of perishables or important foodstuffs like meat, etc.

When I think of countries in the same boat we're in but that don't even have much of an agricultural industry - such as Japan or parts of Europe, I go oh-oh.

Yeah I did not foresee toilet paper, rice and pasta still be out of stock. I’m still okay for now, because I prepared. Whatever’s going to happen wont be much longer coming, because things are going to change one way or another.

Interesting...

And as far as meats go... national sandwich chains are removing roast beef from their menus. Chicken and tuna are next to go

Pardon me, Turkey not chicken (but maybe that too)

So does this mean no Thanksgiving turkey? Pardon me, but will this mean no pardons for bread and butter this year?

No one's going to be starving here, we produce too much food. You might have to do without certain products for a while, but there's still plenty of food.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75641809

Yeah, they're dumping milk on the ground or digging holes and burying their produce. Meanwhile the lines for food bank help/ emergency food boxes stretch longer than 2 miles. There's a disconnect there somewhere!

How many of them are owned by Chinese companies?
I want to know the extent that Chinese companies have in our food supply chain....

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77561269

38% of our farmlands so far, I heard yesterday.

Not a clue about packaging plants.

Many of our farmers and ranchers, so hurt, so despondent, so unable to pay the bills after last spring's debacle [with one promised for this year, again] and no heart left to keep trying, they sold to get themselves out of debt - necessity. Who was buying? Who desperately needs more food for their country? This after how many millions of acres leased to them by Russia in prime growing grounds?

I have no idea how many other companies - just the big ham place that used to be American is the only one I know.

"Suspended no date

A lot of the dates given are august september.

the closed businesses have completely disrupted the supply chains

Example millioms of gallons of milk wasted a day

Farmers cant grow vegetables because there's no where to send them and no one to ship them so a lot of farmers are killing their animals and have stopped planting all together"
 Quoting: petractia

This makes no sense

They say there's no where to send the meat or veggies?

What about to the grocery stores?

Most of the stores I have been to are not fully stocked with meat or veggies

So, why can't the stores use this bbn meat and veggies to restock so we can buy them?

You don't get it do you? The farmers can supply the cattle but with nobody to process the meat- it all shuts down. Farmers don't butcher the cows and filet it to choice meats. Nobody to process= no meat. They are euthanizing healthy cows right now because nobody is there to process it. Same with Tyson, the biggest chicken farm in the world s shutting down, they are killing all their chickens and closing shop.

I am sure who ever had the list knows who has a copy. Each list is ordered specifically to whom it was given to.

Don’t know why you didn’t blur the GMs last name or those responsible for pickup, or whatever but the fact you are showing names ain’t cool. If I was one of those guys I’d pop yer uncle in the throat with his potato cam and shove it up his ass.

Farmers would go to jail if they attempted to butcher and package the meat and then deliver it to a grocery store. It would be illegal for them to do this.

There is a shortage of independent butchers who are liensed to take the cattle.
