U.S. Faces Meat Shortages as Pork, Other Protein EXPORTS TO CHINA SOAR!
[link to www.breitbart.com (secure)]

The coronavirus outbreak has impacted the U.S. food supply chain, including the disease infecting workers at meat processing plants, causing operations to shut down and resulting in slaughtering of livestock that can’t be processed and shipped to retailers.

Some restaurant chains are also facing shortages, including Wendy’s, which announced it had run out of beef for burgers.

But at the same time the U.S. is facing meat and protein shortages, pork and other exports to China have soared.

Reuters published an analysis on the parallel phenomenon:

Meatpackers and livestock producers in the United States have spent at least a year adjusting to the surge in business to China, which has faced a severe pork shortage in the wake of its battle against African swine fever.

But now, as the United States is on the brink of its own meat crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic, American pork supplies are being shipped off to China at a breakneck pace, creating the perfect recipe for additional U.S.-China tensions.

For some American consumers, the optics of this situation might be poor given how the virus originated in China late last year. But record U.S. meat exports to China have been the plan all along, to satisfy both China’s needs and to lift U.S. business.

The Chinese connection is tied to trade deals with the United States, one of the main pillars of the Trump administration agenda, and agreements that pre-date the coronavirus outbreak, the Associated Press (AP) reported

Sell the pork to China for higher prices than beef and use the profits to lower the price of beef in America.

China did this to us. They lied about their outbreak and while they curtailed domestic travel due to the Wuhan virus, they permitted it internationally and put a gag order on it.

Personally, having read a lot of various sources on the topic, I believe China either intentionally or accidentally released it from their bio weapon lab in Wuhan. Either way, the way they handled the situation afterwards was both irresponsible and criminal.

Trump needs to now go back and re-evaluate the Trade deal given the virus' release on us by China. Sending off our pork and other vital supplies must be immediately curtailed. They need to be kept for the US population.

Stop exporting to China.

Stop all exports even if they own or have shares in the companies.

Stop allowing foreigners to own essential industries such as food, medicine and resource based, ie forests, can you imagine they get the toilet paper made from our trees and resources.

Stop allowing them anything.

AND, cancel all debt to them as THEY OWE EVERYONE BIG TIME.

Currently, they have bubonic plague outbreak in Northern China and are probably not shutting down their nation and flights.

And it takes antibiotics in the early stages to stop it. And they have MOST OF THE ANTIBIOTICS.

START PRODUCING ANTIBIOTICS IN LARGE AMOUNTS IMMEDIATELY ALONG WITH HYDROXYCHLOROQINE.

Obvious stuff.

Obvious.

JUST DO IT GOV!!!

In Fact Gov, if they don't stop their plagues, ones you can't allow out here, They Might Have To Be NUKED!!!!

Self Defense of the People comes to mind!

From burgers to brisket, expect beef to cost your more money at checkout

[link to www.ksat.com (secure)]

"...suppliers that is costing him about 30% to 40% more, with prices still rising. And he’s had to pass some of that along to customers.

The lean ground beef he was selling for $3.99 per lb. is now up to $5.29. And the choice T-bones jumped from $10.99 to $14.79 in two months’ time.

If you’re looking to smoke a brisket in a few weeks, prepare to pay for it. Ray says looking at the future’s market, he’s been quoted $6.50 to $7.50 per pound for his cost, which he called “crazy” considering he paid $3.50 per pound eight weeks ago.

“So, in briskets, especially going into Memorial Day weekend and that higher demand anyway, brisket is 80% to 90% higher than eight weeks ago”

We have to pay the bills somehow.

U.S. pork exports finished 2019 on a high note, setting new records for both value and volume, according to statistics released by the USDA and compiled by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF). For the year, 5.89 billion pounds of U.S. pork and pork variety meats valued at $6.952 billion were exported to countries around the world, up 10% and 9% respectively from 2018.

The nation's small farmers and ranchers stand ready to help address these supply shortages. But unless Congress moves quickly to amend, suspend, or repeal a burdensome and ineffective federal law, red tape will prevent that meat from ever reaching grocers—or you.

they're trying though

however, our industry learned from BSE to stockpile a lot more in cold storage than would be considered normal

the beef and pork etc. in the stores now was in the feed lot over a year ago

the problem is right now people aren't buying in the quantities / volumes the stores are used to
because 30 - 40% of the workforce is out of work or reduced hours due to services industries being full shut down or partial shutdown

every time I go to shop I find stuff tagged for quick sale because BBD is today or tomorrow

yesterday I picked up approx 3.5 pounds of chicken sliced for stirfry for 8 bucks off
2 bucks off per pack

also picked up 6 packs of sliced ham and turkey with 30% off tags
these are the no preservatives added so they gotta blow em out as the BBD approaches

another issue is our peeps ain't afraid to work
so all of a sudden one of the major meat packers has over 900 confirmed positive cases and they're shut down
> that's suspicious <
