Just as much as Jerry Lee Lewis, or chuck berry. He was, but the roots of rock and roll go back much further than many people think. This is from 1938. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] |

What a wild man he was, drove white parents batshit insane!! "What's that ni**er music on the radio? Turn that shit off right now!!!" Rest in peace Richard, it was fun while it lasted and it lasted a loooooong time. Imagine that, white and blacks coming together as a culture created rock and roll music. That should provide people with some understanding about why the power elite, the media, and the left as so hell bent on creating racial animosity at this particular time. I think it was American history, including slavery and Jim Crow segregation that made it happen here. Notice how black music has been in decline since the Civil Rights Act was signed. |

Much like what you see happening on social media and the internet, when it comes to creativity, thinking, and the sharing of culture and experience to revolutionize the world and its thinking, the music industry centering around rock music made the powers that be feel threatened, so they installed their people to come in an disrupt and hijack it. Many people were even murdered to prevent music from really reaching its potential as a force for positive change. Here's a case in point. I think they did this guy in. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] It's no accident what has happened to music post civil rights era. Music actually helped spawn the movement. See those white kids in the video listening to Little Richard? The intermingling because of these performances was important to the actual success of the Civil Rights Movement in America. |

One of the very cool things about Little Richard, I think, is that he had no qualms about doing "kids shows" and singing songs for kids. He wasn't "too cool" — and as a result, he endeared himself to multiple generations of younger listeners who might not have heard of him so early in their lives otherwise. Not everyone has parents with good taste in music. Say what you will I worked with a lot of hall o’ fame acts I learned a library of stagecraft just watching this guy in action Dude was awesome |

He was one of the founding fathers of rock, along with Chuck Berry, Bill Haley n the Comets, Elvis, and a few others.. Sad that these Legendary musicians keep dying .. and reminding us of our own mortality. :fireplace: "Remember when we used to treat colds and flu with chicken soup, saltwater gargles and warm tea instead of Communism?" |

The kiddies had to be taught NAUGHTY Stuff to rebel against the Parents and destroy the family unit ! It is so obvious now to many of us . All Scripted - given the music and the credit but they were OWNEd - just to keep performing . Elvis really rebelled , so did Johnny Cash - they were like OK - I want off this fucking game . Elvis was so abused mentally I am amazed he lasted that long ! |

He tipped her a crisp $100 bill each week on a $75 breakfast with friends. This was 30 years ago. That helped her so much. God rest his soul. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77099937 RIP Richard. That's a nice story. Shows character and a generous spirit. Thanks for sharing. |

You might be onto something there. I've always enjoyed black music in the 50s and 60s...up to about that time in late 60s to 70s. I don't remember any black performers that I enjoyed after that and RAP music was a brick wall that I didn't even try to go through. Communism is for LOSERS Communism is SLAVERY Fuck Joe Biden |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78868241 50s Rock'n Roll tunes were using the 12 bar blues chords, and obviously both Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis were inspired by the Boogie Woogie pianists Benny Goodman Sextet had the first "rock'n'roll" elecric lead guitarist, Charlie Christian ... around year 1940 so in away Benny Goodman was also one of the founding fathers of rock'n roll, LOL! |
