Plants indoors (at least at my latitudd) in sunny southward windows don't put on the amount of growth needed to make food. They also get fungus. I do like the idea of container gardening, outside, in summer And I like the concept of greenhouses, except I've seen so many destroyed by the elements that I wonder if people get their money out of them. I did know one person who managed to greeen house for long enough to grow an indoor tree. That was one person, out of many. Most grow tired of their greenhouse because keeping it up is a lot of work. Of course, the new quarantine era maybe makes for more people with more time at home. Even the farmer next door has his green houses destroyed all the time by nor'easters etc. Heavy snow, heavy winds. He must still make a profit, or he wouldn't keep rebuilding them. I also like the idea of digging a pit and growing things below frost line. |
