I can guarantee you that thousands upon thousands of soldiers were shot or fragged by their comrades, consumed by their own artillery or air force bombing raids and that scores of airplanes were accidentally downed by their own as well.

Three points to learn from the incident:

1) Iran has proven to have poor discipline, protocol, or is easily tricked into firing in the last 6 months.

2) Iran has proven they will not hesitate to fire if they think they are threatened.

3) Iran has excellent missile systems and a good track record of shooting down and successfully sinking everything they aim at - U.S. stuff and even their own stuff. If a U.S. ship is fired at you'll be reading this same thread title about a sunk U.S. corvette.
