The idea that such people would actually be held accountable appears to be almost outrageous to many because it never seems to happen.

We are not living in the same society that we did just a few months ago and the economic impact of that change has yet to fully manifest itself. Once that happens, there will be a great deal of outrage and what one needs to understand is that outrage is what fuels lynch mobs. All major political change such as revolution comes from troubled economic times with the rare exception of religious fanaticism.

Since the economy is interconnected in a complex web that cannot be fully comprehended much less controlled, then if it deteriorates greatly then this will be the time of great change. Also, such change is inevitable due to a huge parasitical class (supported by duped voters) who draw from the public treasury and those elements who act in support of it such as media and "consultants" who are not necessarily paid directly but indirectly. There are too few productive elements within this society to continue supporting the parasitical ones. The final straw has broken the camel's back. The parasitical class by their nature are dishonest and out of touch because anyone who is fundamentally dishonest is at high risk of getting facts and data wrong. This aspect of being out of touch is what Thomas Sowell has described when he said that civilization exists on a thin crust over a volcano and these people are so out of touch that they are actually picking at it and risking calamity for us all. That is exactly what is about to happen as this is a "perfect storm' scenario for a sea of change.

Just before things fall there is most often a scramble to prevent a fall by the government. We are seeing this now with the parasitical elements trying to justify their parasitism and usurpation from those they steal from in covert ways. The more reasonable elements attempt to curtail a collapse while the parasites unknowingly trigger their own demise. A host can only tolerate parasites up to the point it can no longer support them. We reached that point before the virus and the economy may very well be the flash-point to ignite it.
