Actually, there is, or was.

The moon, along with most things you or we have known as 'realities', are literal cash cows. Without these moons, nuclear weapons, etc, the government would have no legitimate reason to levy taxes.

It also gives our minds things to dwell on, for without all of the fakery here, it would be very boring.

We will discuss these things in as much detail as you would like, as soon as I find a central place on this forum to disclose the nature of your true reality.

Because there is nothing really interesting on the moon, everything you could find on the moon can also be found on earth. This makes a moonlanding a financial sinkhole so not interesting for either businesses, states or even science. Until we find interests on other planets, moons, asteroids and have developed the technology to actually retrieve what we want in a somewhat financially viable way, we do not need to go to the moon. When we do have that technology, it will even be interesting to build a base on the moon as a stepping stone to other destinations and then it will happen again.

Also.. Your economy is in the shitter so you cant afford to go to the moon.

Also, the previous moonlanding was more about proving to the commies that you had a rocket that could fly to the moon.. It was pretty much an ICBM dick measuring contest that was sold to the world as a scientific endeavor, but scientific gains were a mere byproduct of a defense project.
