Then I clearly saw in the scriptures that, in fact, the revelatory gifts of prophecy, tongues, and word of knowledge ceased. The pentecostal movement has its roots in the false revival of Azusa Street, and it just spread and bore more bad fruit with the false revivals of the 90's. That being said, the apostasy is complete. Like I said earlier, no organized churches are true. The antichrist's kingdom has taken over them all. And this is the plain prophetic fulfillment of Jeremiah 23:2 where God says the false shepherds have scattered God's flock. The true church is scattered in the natural, but completely intact spiritually as the Body of Christ. Here is Biblical proof that the revelatory gifts of tongues, prophecy, and word of knowledge have ceased. God still works miracles and heals, but Christians should never seek or a sign because of Jesus' warnings about lying signs in the last days. That’s not biblical proof. It’s one man’s interpretation of a couple of verses, an interpretation that doesn’t even stand scrutiny. ‘The perfect’ in the context of what is written, is the Kingdom of God. We see the truth of scripture and prophecy dimly now, but when Jesus returns, and we see him face to face, he will show us the truth of all things. That’s what the passage is taking about. None of the gifts have ceased, but every word of knowledge, every word of prophecy, every interpreted tongue has to be tested against scripture. I totally agree with your first clip, and the witchcraft that is flooding particularly the American and now Uk church through false teachers in the NAR, bethel, Heidi baker, Toronto etc but, with respect disagree with you on the gifts. For me, charismata still occur and are of God, but the charismania we see mostly today as certainly not of God, but of Satan. God bless |

We call that eisegesis. The gentleman is interpreting that phrase in a way that cannot objectively be taken from the passage. He is putting into scripture something that is not there, rather than using exegesis to take out of the scripture what it actually does contain. He fails your own test. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78282459 Christian cults are very popular in America and Africa, where they love all these demonstrations, the faith healings and all that jazz. I agree, they can be very dark and manipulative. But these false leaders have been subverting even the most sturdy baptist churches the last 20 years, too. They work slow if they need to, but they're not stopping. It's been spreading like a plague across the globe for the last 40 years. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 51752123 United States 05/13/2020 08:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Find yourself a good Bible believing church. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26805783 There are still plenty out there. If being among other born-again REDEEMED children of God offends you, it MAY JUST BE that you are NOT ONE OF THEM! If you ARE a Blood bought child of God, with your name in the Lamb's Book of Life, surely you KNOW that you are going to spend ETERNITY with the REDEEMED? Why would you not want to get to know your brothers and sisters now? The only sure way to know which church, if any, to attend is to earnestly and fervently pray to God for discernment, and have Him lead you to the right one... the same way one should ask Him to find you your lifemate. I'm trying to tell people, don't ask for God to "lead you" to the right church. God won't do that, He gave you His word to follow. Satan, however, leads Christian who ask for supernatural guidance by the nose in a second. That’s exactly why you pray for discernment FIRST! Of course one must follow His Word, but do you honestly believe that God doesn’t answer prayer, and that any supernatural guidance received is of the Devil? I’m going to warn you, in Christian love, that if that is what you are indeed saying, you are close to blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Please, please, reconsider and do not go there. |

God still works miracles and heals, but Christians should never seek or a sign because of Jesus' warnings about lying signs in the last days. I think his interpretation of the passage in 1 Cor 13: 10-13 is flat out wrong. In verse 12 the contrast is now we see only in a reflection dimly, but then face to face. I don't "see" my Bible face to face. The Bible is not a person. But the return of Jesus is the return of a person. When Jesus comes prophecy will cease. Also just because we have the New Testament does not mean we know fully. Far from it. In fact there are other verses that support the concept. Joel 2:28-32 speaks of a great prophetic outpouring right before the day of the Lord, which is the end of days and the return of Jesus. This can't happen if prophecy has ceased. I view the idea that prophecy has ceased as a false teaching, and harmful since we need the gifts of the spirit now more than ever since the 1rst century. For example the gift of discernment? If that has failed then everyone will fall prey to the false prophets. With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible |
