Quoting: The Deplorable Empath Have any doctors studied the effects of Covid on patients with von willebrand disease yet? If this turns out to be a blood clotting disorder this is something they may want to look into. I am pretty sure my whole family has had Covid already, early this year. One family member works at a hospital and she collapsed one night and we all got very sick after her. But, we also all carry the von willebrand disease gene. It hit us hard and fast, then went away. I have partial knowledge/memory of the possibility that the spike protein and it's function as an antigen in the vaccine might trigger an immune response which causes micro-clotting through vWF disregulation by attacks on enzymes related to it's regulation. I'll see if I can find the original text. |

I am convinced that a family member of mine lost sight in one eye due to this. |

From CharGPT In the context of vascular disorders or pathologies involving micro-clotting or thrombosis, von Willebrand factor can play a role in several ways: Thrombotic Microangiopathies (TMAs): Disorders such as thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) are characterized by microvascular thrombosis, leading to organ damage and dysfunction. In TTP, for example, a deficiency or dysfunction of ADAMTS13 (a vWF-cleaving protease) results in the accumulation of ultralarge vWF multimers, leading to platelet aggregation and microthrombi formation in small blood vessels. |
