I haven't heard anything about the ISS in the MSM news at all since Covid. Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken will be launching on the first manned crew dragon in 10 days. They're currently in quarantine which is actually standard procedure for any crew launching to the space station. They'll be staying up on the station for a couple of months to test out the new vehicle and provide support to the ISS crew. Very cool. Thank you for the Update.. :) |

Our eyes have limited vision and objects get smaller and smaller until they dissapear behind/beyond our subjective limited horizon (which is eye level) given the observer’s altitude ISS has precisely the angular size it should for an object 109 meters wide at about 400 km altitude. I've measured it myself. And no, the distance analogy is not bullshit, it SHOULD move at an angular rate of about 1 degree per second when viewed from 400 km away, that's well within my telescope's capabilities.  |
