The reaction was originally only supposed to prepare us to live and treat this thing. Then it became lock down until the danger is gone. Im in my 20s but my grandparents all grew up to some degree during times where antibiotics didnt exist yet, lots of people back then died of infections that are now easily treated. This virus does not come close to putting us back at that level. Its all about perspective, people survived much much worse in the past. Id rather take a little higher chance of dying to live a normal life than hiding out for months on end scared shitless to leave my house.
