I "ran away" from home as a teen. It was only for 2 days and my parents quickly figured out that my best friend knew where I was and that I would be ok and come home soon. The first night I stayed on a lot in a fairly undeveloped neighborhood. It was right upon the ocean and surrounded by trees. I was not a happy camper at the time and was irritated and hardly slept. Years later I longed to be able to go back and do it again. Though I did not appreciate it at the time the memory of the ocean breeze and salt on my mouth with wild critters chattering throughout the night was beautiful. I can't go back because there are now multimillion dollar estates on the land and surrounding area.
