It was only for 2 days and my parents quickly figured out that my best friend knew where I was and that I would be ok and come home soon. The first night I stayed on a lot in a fairly undeveloped neighborhood. It was right upon the ocean and surrounded by trees. I was not a happy camper at the time and was irritated and hardly slept.  Years later I longed to be able to go back and do it again. Though I did not appreciate it at the time the memory of the ocean breeze and salt on my mouth with wild critters chattering throughout the night was beautiful.  I can't go back because there are now multimillion dollar estates on the land and surrounding area.  |

I was 7, so h my parents and their cousins in Ecuador. Later learned it was a pilgrimage to see this possible right. It did huge loops across the sky, the sun spun like a quarter spinning on a table, it bigger and smaller as well while it fanced. As an adult, I feel I viewed a miracle. Later learned this is what other saw during the big sighting in Fatima. |

I think the joy and beauty of us all sitting in front of the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve is as close to heavenly joy as I can find on earth. Now that they are gone, Christmas isn't the same. Babies..any babies are beautiful. Their innocence and wonder always take my breath away. A friendship that has survived marriages, divorce, babies, deaths, arguments, and tough times. My best friend has been my best friend for 50+ years. That's beautiful. The lush beauty of East Texas in the spring. Azaleas, tulips, roses, daffodils, irises all abound and the grass as greener than any I have ever seen. I love the beautiful Phoenix sunsets but I will never forget the gorgeous East Texas spring. Young love, middle-aged love, old love. What can be more beautiful? |

There was a brick missing and instead of replacing it with a new fake old one, or some new crappy new one, they had planted flowers in the spot. They took something broken and without fixing it turned it into something useful and beautiful. Since that day I've been ok with who I am, flaws and all.
