So who are these "sons of God" who mated with these "daughters of men"? They were humans from other planets who were sent to earth on assignment. These sons of God (humans) got lonely and married daughters of men. You must understand that humans born on the earth are called "sons of men" and "daughters of men". There was no need to mention the "sons of men" because the "sons of God" did not marry the "sons of men".

"elohim" is a word used to describe spirit beings and is never used in the bible to describe humans nor humanlike creatures. they had words for "men" and "human" that they would have used if what you propose is true. But they used "elohim" which proves these beings where spirit beings. psalm 82 describes an encounter with other lesser "elohim" in which God (elohim) judges other elohim, again proving that these beings are like God, not humans.
