Truth is a lot of old Democrats are closet racists.
If they are not overtly racist they are certainly subvertly racist in the paternalistic/plantation owner sense.
The Dem Party made a calculated decision way back that they had to make every Black person a political slave of sorts so that the Dem Party could stay in power. Before the calculated switch they were the KKK Party.
