At Heinens we ordered 15 items and the only thing in stock was a package of Thomas' English Muffins. Everything else was sold out. The shopper said the store was practically bare. Milk and eggs are consistently sold out everywhere. I don't think it's because of the holiday. Milk and eggs are not party food and many people are still quarantining. There just seems to be a shortage of food here. Is anyone else experiencing this? the white cities have plenty of food. looks like black people are getting starved into extinction. . Well, there are those who are posting that Meijer's has food. That store is located in Mentor, in Lake County, which is mostly white. The stores I'm shopping from are on the near East Side and heavily black. However, Heinens is more upscale and expensive and doesn't attract a large black clientele. And Heinens is the one that the shopper said is almost bare. Here's the thing, Heinens in my closeby area does attract a large "small hat" group. Once again, maybe they know something. . Heinens is a more expensive "upscale" grocery where few blacks shop. Give it a rest. |

Meijer is pretty full, although chicken is defintely lacking. Luckily I have two freezers full of meat so it's not too worrisome. Still can't find yeast but I still have 1-1/2 lbs. Most stores though are limiting meat so you just have to shop more. Honestly though I haven't used any ordering services, I don't need to pay someone to do my shopping for me plus I've seen those shoppers in the store and I wouldn't trust them to buy anything for me. Actually right now I have about 120 pounds of rice and 60 pounds of beans put back in home storage. I think these issues will arise again especially if/when there is a second wave of the virus in the Fall. In short, I would keep stocking up on food while you can. Worse comes to worse, you can donate it to a food pantry or other organization. |
